Listeners range from the top of NYC to North East New Jersey and Pennsylvania, to the Hudson River towns and throughout theUpper Delaware Valley. Some are NYC residents with a weekend home in the Catskills. As we move into Rosh Hashannah, the beginning of 10 days of repentance and spiritual renewal for many, it seems many are in an individual and/or a national mood of spititual questioning. This week I explored the expression of thoughts of renewal, forgiveness and spirituality in the contemporary folk scene. Also had a live discussion by phone with Cosy Sheridan who is playing tonight locally (Chester NY) , as is David Massengill (Middletown-tomorrow) I began the show with Cosy's "Broken Place" where perhaps we find ourselves these days. 1. She spoke how she tried to make people in New Jersey realize that water in the Colorado river would involve them since the lettuce that is grown in that area is trucked to their supermarkets. I wondered who she listened to when on the road and she answered that she made tapes: Shindell, Bartley, Goodman, Eggleston.... I told her it sounded like one of my shows. Especially touched by her tune "Too Much Time" I asked how she spends quality time. In peace, meditating, thinking, observing and being and not necesarily doing she aswered. 11.
