hobby. Then she was on the top 100 billboard then for 3 1/2 years....

Kate McGarrigle - 2/6/1946 - January 18, 2010
Kate and Anna's songs have been widely
recorded by other artists, including Linda Ronstadt, Judy Collins,
Emmylou Harris. Kate met Loudon Wainwright in 1969 in
Greenwich Village, and the mother of singers Rufus Wainwright
and Martha Wainwright from her marriage to him, which ended in divorce.
Kate studied engineering at McGill University.
