Folk Plus is hosted and planned by Angela Page and airs Saturdays from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on WJFF, at 90.5 fm in Jeffersonville, N.Y. and 94.5 in Monticello N.Y. We are Hydro-Powered Public Radio and stream online at WWW.WJFFRADIO.ORG We are located physically about two hours northwest of New York City reaching the Poconos and the Mid Hudson listening areas. Last week a listener sent me the lyrics to a song her mom sang, after hearing Amy Carol Webb's song about her mother. I sent her back the words to which I was familiar. The listener was amazed any once else knew the song, and had never encountered anyone who knew it. We have to sing it together she said, to see if htey are the same melody. Well, my mother recited the same lyrics as a poem when I was young. That got me thinking about versions of songs. Today's show I call two versions, same song.
