People heard where we were and brought food, and pledge money! We were trying to make an $18,000 goal of finishing the mortgage on the station. We got a third of the way there! Unique day. People came up the hill with their families to speak on the radio and leave money. Some said they had to see it to beleive it.
People drove in to talk about good times they had over the years at the hotel too. This hotel had an award winning bar, from 1930's. I didn't know bard won awards, but evidently this one did. Sad.
For those of you who couldn't belive it and couldn't drive up to the tower on Elk Point Road, we took digital pictures of yesterday and posted them at http://www.wjffradio.org/tower You can see how much fun we had.
We Hydro-powered Public Radio serving the Mid-Hudson Region, North East Pennsylvania, and the Upper Delaware Valley. (Unless fires knock out out lines and we don't reach anywhere) Hydro power is no help when you still need to connect fiber optics to your tower!
